Great stop at the Best Place tavern. We just got done from the tour at the Pabst mansion so dropped by for a beer. No food but they do have bags of pretzels for purchase if you're peckish. The space gets loud with tours who end in that tavern space but it's not too busy or loud in between. We got $4 pints of PBR and other local crafts were $6. Not too bad. And, the staff was friendly while slinging beers. They have a robust gift shop if you're in the market for beer/Pabst specific products.

We just finished the tour. The guide was outstanding, so much fun and very enthusiastic about the history of this brewery. I highly recommend it even if you have already done an active brewery tour.

Mostly booked this tour for the included beer but actually ended up enjoying and learning a lot from our guide Scott. The bartenders were nice especially Vincent who hooked me up for my bachelorette :). The tour is really short overall and most of it is spent watching a ppt presentation but there are a good amount of stairs. A couple of photo ops as well.

Well this truly is the Best Place! This place truly never disappoints! My husband and I have been coming here for years, and every visit is a blast. From immersing ourselves in Milwaukee's rich brewery history to enjoying a steaming latte at the coffee shop, the kind-hearted staff always makes us feel welcome. This time, we took the walking tour with Joe, and it was easily one of the best tours I've ever been on. Afterward, we couldn't resist browsing the gift shop, great prices and super-friendly staff! The girls went out of their way to help me find the perfect stocking stuffers for the upcoming holiday season.

What a great tour! I am a big fan of Pabst beer, so I decided to check out the original factory tour which is only $14 including a beer. Super fascinating tour and I learned that Milwaukee became the beer capital of America bc of the Chicago fire of 1871. Tour guide was super cool, funny and professional. Definitely check this out if you're in town.

I'm not a beer drinker but we were in the Brewery District of MKE and stopped in the amazing historic Pabst Brewery. It was fun to see all the PBR-branded merch and the nostalgia for PBR and other local brews. I remember the old tv commercials and advertisements for these brands. I contemplated getting some branded apparel for my dad who surely cracked open a few cans of PBR or Old Milwaukee back in the day. While here, hoist a glass in homage to King Gabrinus, Patron Saint of Beer, in the courtyard.

This place rocks, go if you are in town or go back a second time if you live in Milwaukee . It's a walk thru history while sipping on $4 PBR's, listening to tour guide Scott spiting wisdom and having access to a pretty amazing gift shop. You also get a free ghost tour, as the place is for sure haunted in their basement bar....but they are drunk happy ghosts, really the best kind.

In one point in time, Pabst was the largest brewer of lager in the world. Do the beer history tour to find out why this is the Best Place. In all honesty, I didn't think I would enjoy this tour as I'm not into beer. It was more interesting than I thought it was going to be thanks to the tour guide/ speaker. The tour is $14 and includes a pint of beer or soda.

For $14, visit and relive a piece of American beer history, which also includes a nice cool smooth pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon. The first 20 minutes of the 1 hour tour takes you inside the main beer hall, where you're treating to one of the more interesting Power point presentations ever, with a very enthusiastic tour guide, also drinking PBR with you, whom gives a fun and informative walk down memory lane about all history and details of Pabst. Pay attention, answer a quiz question correctly, and you can win an additional pint of PBR. You'll walk through some hallways, stairwells, see the main ballroom and the original office of the founder Jacob Best and ultimately Captain Pabst. It's a fun historical tour for beer lovers and history nerds like myself. Not so much fun if you're not a beer drinker.

Every time we're in town, we have to make a stop here. I will admit I'm still disappointed the brewery moved out of state, but at least this historic treasure is still available to visit and get a cold PBR on tap. When you step foot in the building, the German heritage is apparent in the architecture. There's a cozy Tap Room for drinking your beer inside. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy your beer outside in the courtyard. Daily beer history tours are available. The gift shop is huge and brimming with Pabst brands shirts, hats, signs, magnets, barware and other memorabilia. Fun fact: it has the largest selection of beer-related merchandise in the Midwest. This historic site is definitely worth a visit!
